







The pension offers to be a starting point from where you can easily approach a great number of both ski slopes and cross-country ski trails.

Several downhill ski facilities are situated just at Železná Ruda:
Samoty ski facility is only 200m from the pension; the ski slope is suitable especially for families with children, beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Also the facility offers night skiing and snowtuning. Further, just at Železná Ruda there are two ski slopes Belveder and Nad Nádražím.
The highest and largest downhill ski area on the Czech side of Šumavy is Špičák, which is 2 km far from Železná Ruda. It offers ski slopes for skiers of all ability levels, ski and snowboard schools, snowpark, Penguinland for little skiers, ski rental, and ski and snowboard service shops.

The largest facility is Velký Javor (Gross Arber) hosting World Cup ski races. You will find slopes of all ability levels, FIS track, snowpark, and sledge run. Certainly you fill find ski and snowboard schools and service shops. Gross Arber is the right place to go if you wish to enjoy both skiing and après ski entertainment in a number of local skibars.
